  • Antarctica is the world's coldest continent.  And that's no wonder - 98% of Antarctica is covered by a thick layer of ice!
  • Antarctica is the 5th biggest continent and is considered a desert because it rarely rains.  This might surprise us, because when we think of deserts we usually imagine sand, sun and camels!
  • Antarctica is too cold and windy to support humans, so no humans live there.
